Yesterday it was a little bit cold, and Pepper wanted to go for a bit but I didn’t want to leave the patio doors open. So I showed him the catflap. Nudging his feet at it he went out. Then a little while later whilst I was upstairs doing some work on the lables for the Abingdon Concert Band CDs, I heard this meowing behind me. And it was Pepper. He’d obviously come in through the cat flap – which is good. Then later that night he wanted to go out, but I just went to bed leaving him sat by the cat flap looking out. Whilst I was brushing my teeth I heard the catflap go – Pepper had gone out. This morning he was curled up on the landing…
Yayy!! My little pusscat is using his cat flap.
(I wonder if this means I’ll soon be able to remove the litter tray?)
Look forward to clearing up dead mice and half-eaten birds whose feathers and innards have been exploded all over the floor………
Thank you so much for that lovely thought…
(dead mice and exploded innards I can deal with it’s the litter tray that I object to!)
In that case you should be on to a winner, assuming you can teach your kitty to prefer to go outdoors rather than use the litter (or the space where the litter was).
I’ve got high hopes that little Pepper will. After all he’s six years old and hasn’t been used to a cat flap and now he seems to getting used to it. I’ve seen him go in the garden before so I know he can (unfortunately I don’t believe cat pee is that good a fertiliser for my plants?!!) – at some point I shall take the plunge and remove the litter tray, but till then…
