Started Christmas in traditional style last night – attending carols in Salisbury Cathedral. They do it well – with two *performances* in recent years because of its popularity. The boy choir is off hidden in the quire somewhere, but they process the girl choir down the nave giving this rich variety of sound echoing from the different parts of the church.

The service is also centred around a paper-maché crib, which they add to each year. The Angel Gabriel, seen above, was new this year, and the Kings are set apart by the rich colours of the paper, as opposed to the simple white.
