For the fourth day now, I am suffering an annoying pain in my right side located in the neck and head area. I think I must moved/slept awkwardly on Thursday night, and Friday and Saturday were particularly bad when moving my head side to side or up and down. I’m assuming that I’ve just pulled some muscle or strained some nerve somewhere and that it will come good in the end, but I guess if it doesn’t I ought to toddle off down to the doctors.

Spooky
I have had a nasty neck and shoulder pain for approximately the same duration as you have, as has one of my work colleagues. You have my sympathy.
Re: Spooky
It does seem to be better now than it was. So hopefully… 🙂
Hope you feel better soon too! I wonder what’s caused this spate of neck pains…?
Is it stiff as well as painful? Have you tried applying something like Deep Heat?
Not particularly stiff, no. My Mum suggested taking Ibuprofene (spelling??) but I would need to check with the pharmacist that it’s okay for me to take – my Epilim/Sodium Valproate seems to proclude the taking of some off the shelf medicines…
Hi – I just spotted that you’re on MSN messenger at the mo (and I’m officially off-line). Ibuprofen is a good painkiller, but you shouldn’t take it if you’re allergic to aspirin. It’s marketed as Nurofen (among others) but if you *can* take it, then you might as well buy the generic version.
As it’s not stiff, it doesn’t really sound like a muscle injury. Unexplained aches and pains are annoying. Hope it sorts itself out.
