This the latest book from David Almond, and is an at times challenging to your feelings, and yet is full of hope. It’s set at the time of the Cuban missile crisis, and Bobbie fears for his father’s health, and yet it feels uncomfortably like the here and now, or the near tragic future, with the possible onset of World War 3…
It’s a human story of children overcoming their fears, and it’s powerful in the deftly written in the inimitable style that David Almond has used since the award winning Skellig. A good book. Read it.
