3. Pick something that is on my interests list that surprises you. Why does this surprise you?
4. Pick something that is on my interests list that you know next to nothing about. I’ll ‘splain if I can.
5. Pick something that you think should be on my interests list. Why do you think it should be?
I skipped all the whys…I’m horrible at explaining why :/
1. aspergers
2. Jane Austen
3. Avril Lavigne
4. irafar
5. dunno
3. Avril Lavigne? When I created this journal (the majority of my interests) a year go, her album Let Go was one of my current faves – I guess it’s stuck…
4. Írafár. They are my current fave Rock/Pop group. An Icelandic band, there music seems to help spir on the writing of my novel (set in Iceland). Music’s good too! (just wish I could understand the words, but hey!!) If you are interested you can hear their music here.
I love avril lavigne too 😉
Check out Írafár next then! And if you like it, you can buy the albums from here.
1. Pick something on my interests list that you also like and describe why. – Shakespeare. He had it all!
2. Pick something on my interests list that you don’t like and describe why. – Bjork. I really really *want* to like her music, but thus far it’s left me cold
3. Pick something that is on my interests list that surprises you. Why does this surprise you? Peter Greenaway. Just because so many people dismiss him as thoroughly pretentious. He probably is, but he’s also made some very interesting films.
4. Pick something that is on my interests list that you know next to nothing about. I’ll ‘splain if I can. Sigur ros. A band?
5. Pick something that you think should be on my interests list. Why do you think it should be? Tricky one! On the topic of fairy tales I recommend Marina Warner’s “From the Beast to the Blonde” if you’ve not already read it.
I’ve seen Shakespeare on a few people’s list, and thought about putting similar comments! *grins* …and as for Björk, try her second album Post – some great tracks on there.
I have to say that I’m not huge fan of Peter Greenaway, but he’s done some interesting films – Prospero’s Books is marvellous … The Baby of Macon, not so great!
Sigur Rós – they are a huge Icelandic (progressive) rock band apparently much favoured by the likes of Moby and Radiohead. They have become famous for singing in a made up language called Hopelandic, and their last album, simply entitled ( ) features a whole album of [untitled] tracks. If you want to give them a try though, as I would recommend, I would try the preceding album Agaetis Byrjun. It’s incredibly inspiring!

From The Beast to the Blonde? It sounds very familiar, I think I’ve read it (in which case I probably have it). Definitely one for the re-read pile if I have. ^__^
I liked Prospero’s Books (it’s an interesting complement to The Tempest) – I think my favourite Greenaway is the first one I saw, Drowning by Numbers. Plus I’m also a big Michael Nyman fan 🙂
Everyone (well, maybe not *everyone*, lol) keeps name-checking Sigur Ros so I suppose I ought to check them out!
