With chapter two completed last night, today I generated the 60 page PDF Proof, and despatched it off to Helen (aka. siren_songs) who has been enthusiastic enough to accept first reading of it. So fingers crossed – what will I do if she hates it?!!!
I’ve downed the first 50 words of Chapter Three, provisionally entitled Northern Capital, and I’ve discovered where I’m a-heading.
In other news that may surprise people, my Dawson’s Creek season two dvds arrived this morning. The first two seasons clearly stand out of this series as the best, which is why I want to revisit them. If you get past the teenage schmultz, they are actually creatively written, intelligently shot dramas.
Dawson’s Creek, eh? A programme that reminds me of the flat I lived in before I met Allister. I used to sort of half-watch it, but never quite understood the rationale of the programme or the relationship of the characters to one another – there was quite a scary woman older woman in it, with a grand-daughter who resented older woman’s old-fashioned and interfering ways. And that’s probably my abiding memory of Dawson’s Creek 🙂 But I’m not taking a televisual moral high ground – heck, I’ve been known to watch episodes of Monarch of the Glen and even *care* what happened!! Lol…
It’s just a teen drama dealing with teen issues just like any other, but whereas Buffy does it with vampires or Smallville does it with superheroes, Dawson’s Creek does it with big words and psycho-analytical posturing…
