I’ve now ordered myself an additional 256MB of memory for my camera, which, along with the two 128 cards I have, will give me space for in excess of 800 (all but best quality) photos (yes, I take a lot of photos, you have a problem with that? *grins*)
I’m really starting to get things sorted for my holiday(s) – I say plural ‘cos I’m thinking about Hungary as well as the impending Iceland trip. I spoke to my aunt tonight, and they are planning a trip away to the western fjords where my uncle’s family have a house, which will be cool as I’ve never been to that part of Iceland. This will be over the middle weekend of 19 June as they have a public holiday on the 17th…
In planning for my Iceland trip I keep on having to remind myself that this is not a working holiday – I haven’t had a non-working holiday since, since … I’ve not had a non-working holiday this century! – and thus, I do not need to take tents, first aid kits, work gloves, steel toe-capped boots. Surely this might mean I can for once travel light…?!
My original plan with Iceland was – as part of the reason of going is to do research for the novel, and gather inspiration, and write lots and lots – to take the laptop with me. Thing is, it’s an old laptop, and heavy, so I think considering I have my novel on a memory stick which is much more portable, and should have the aforementioned extra picture card which should make the downloading of photos mid-trip unnecessary, and if I do want to check email, post in lj I can go to a Reykjavik internet cafe, that I shall leave it behind. A good decision me thinks.
