I’ve taken myself off to vote and placed my cross in the box of my choosing, not that there was much choosing when it came to the local council elections. Labour it seems couldn’t be mithered to put up a candidate, so I was I was left with the LibDems or the Tories. Luckily, one of them was the party I would have chosen in the first place as I happen to think they make a better job of local councils, and those who know me can probably guess the one I wouldn’t have touched with a barge pole.
The European elections was a more interesting affair. The ballot paper was two feet long and largely made up of parties I’d never even heard of much less even vote for. There was a bit of a decision here, and a few no hopers – but I made my choice and placed my cross.

Begged and borrowed a wee bit of cat litter off the neighbours for Pepper tomorrow. Don’t want him going walk about tomorrow afternoon and not being around for the long drive home…

Intriguing parcel from fire_and_ichor in the letter rack when I got home. My birthday present from Nicole – thank you ^__^ – a compilation cd entitled Grey Matter for Introspection. Hrmm…
What is it with these local council candidates?? We had two Tories and one Labour, no LibDem.
Keep forgetting to ask you, do you subscribe to Writers’ News magazine? And if not, would you like me to pass on my copies to you?
I used to subscribe to it – back when there was also the sister “Writing” magazine. Not sure why I stopped – probably lack of money during temping days, but sure, if you don’t keep them I’d like to have a look-see. Thanks! ^__^
Should I just send random artty gifts to you by way of recompence for postage?
Just out of interest, what did you think of my writing post last night? …as someone who has read chapters 1 and 2? I’d be interested if you have views…
No worries – I’d rather someone else read them than just throw them away! No need to recompense me for postage – I spend so much money sending stuff overseas, particularly to Canada and the US, that I’m always pleasantly surprised at the low price of UK post!!
Just out of interest, what did you think of my writing post last night?
The planned death of Andy? Well, if you need to kill off your character, it makes sense to make the death have a ‘point’, i.e. to tie in with one of the main themes of the novel…
Okay… ^_^ although I may just start sending you random artty things from the creative hands of TES anyway! ^__^
The death of Andy? Yes, I agree, if I go down this route then I will need to go back and make some adjustments so that his death in this way is much more *in* the story (but I think this is possible) I also will have to add some scenes with him (probably flashbacks although I think he probably needs to be more in on the search for Helen and talking about her) so that the reader cares that he has died. Elsewise, he will just be just another victim of a weather related accident…
Yay, you got it! In good condition, I hope? They kind of threw it into the bin at the Post Office when I sent it off…
Have you gotten a chance to give it a listen? Am interested to hear what you think of it. I mean, /I/ like it, but then, I made it 😀
