Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot…

what’s November 5th? Is it your national holiday or something?
It’s Bonfire Night, or Guy Fawkes Day, when we ‘celebrate’ the fact that Guy Fawkes was executed for his part in the Gunpowder Plot to blow up King James I and the Houses of Parliament. Traditionally, effigies of him (‘guys’) are burned on bonfires on this day, but mainly it’s just an excuse to have lots and lots of fireworks 🙂
I love the picture of the bonfire. Fabulous!
I think it was made by the very fine drizzle that was surrounding us – making the ground steam in an other-worldly way.
Actually, I was surprised at how well the pictures of fireworks came out. Not bad for my little camera…
