For a shade under 700 quid I have bought my new oak flooring. Real wood engineered downstairs and laminate upstairs, it should be delivered sometime next week.
Next comes the logistical nightmare of laying it. Hey, one does like a challenge! *grins*
I love wood flooring – but the prospect of laying it would, um, floor me 😉
It actually doesn’t seem to bad. The only glueing is some regular PDA wood glue to fix the tongue and grooved boarding together, and you just lay it on the underlay, no further glueing or nailing or anything.
What’s more it doesn’t seem to cost more (sometimes less even) than carpets! I reckon I’ve got a nice deal to do the two main rooms in my house. It will be definitely be nice to have a slick new floor rather than these manky carpets.
