It seems that one year ago I was in Edinburgh for a week of training … Production Editor job role training. One year on, I have that job (or I am about to) … sad to say that with my manager and team, great as they are Oxford-based, I don’t know when next, if ever, I will be able to swing myself a week in the Scottish capital…

I remember now, standing on the cobbled Cockburn Street and calling my brother to wish him happy birthday. His birthday is tomorrow…
I commented to a colleague today that it was a year since we first met. He used to work in the Edinburgh office and now works down in Oxford. He returned my observation with the comment that who would have guessed then that within the year we would both have new jobs?!!
