I sent a chasing email to one of my author’s for him to return his proof corrections for a couple of paper’s he’s currently got going in one of my journals. I got a very nice email back from him this afternoon, apologising for the delay, but that he would attend to this as soon as possible but that he needs to discuss them with his co-authors and that “one of them lives in New Orleans so he could be destracted by strong winds”.
Excuse me a moment whilst I just go and extract my foot from my mouth… This said, the tone of his email suggests that the guy is okay, but all the same, I really don’t think he’s going to be wanting about a silly little scientific paper right now!
