I’m having a weekend in the New Forest to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. It’s also the weekend of the Frogham Fair, and seeings as the local book group run the book stall, and seeings as how my parents are members of this, I got taken along to help sell. But books are books are books, and of course, where books are involved, I have to join in. Paperbacks were 50p each and hardbacks £1 each, or three for two within a category. So for just five quid I’ve come home with a nice little stash…
The Just So Stories are actually for Ben when he’s a bit older but I had to buy it because it’s the same (nice) editon that I have got! 🙂
Ooh – I really liked ‘Tulip Fever’ – in fact I probably prefer it to ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’. A bit unfair to compare the two, but both set at around about the same time, in the same place, and published the same year, but unfortunately while the Chevalier book took off, the Moggach seems to have been largely ignored :-/
Are you a LibraryThing-er, btw?
I thought of you when I got my pile of books home! Now, I wonder wshy that might be? 😉
No, not a LibraryThing-er – I can’t begin to conceive of the time that it would take me to catalogue everything that I own?!! When would I finish my novel if I did that too??
