1. Okay, so when I said the flood waters were receding yesterday, that is not so true. The surge has come down the Thames and has now flooded much of Osney and Botley Road (apparently Kathy from band has spent much of the day looking out of her window watching it creep ever closer to their house and wondering about popping down to PC World for some more sandbags to build another level. 2. Today was supposed to my first day back at work after the mini-break in Norfolk. As it turned out, I was able to work up some time during Monday and Tuesday for having Wednesday afternoon off…

3. …for today I had an interview down at T&F in Milton Park, Abingdon Didcot, for essentially an Electronic Production Editor by any other name role. I think it went okay, although it is a bit hard to say because the interviewer – a young guy – seemed more nervous than me about it. Hrmm, hard to gauge that kind of thing.

4. From Didcot, instead of heading north up the A34 and home, I headed south to the M4 and to Holyport, where I met up with Emma for a quick supper before we went to the Odeon Maidenhead to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was great! I loved it! Although I will have to go back and re-read the book as there a number of bits where I was thinking I’m not sure if I get this and I’ve read the book, so it really isn’t a film for non-fans (or those who haven’t read the book).
