Last night was the night of the last Blackwell Publishing summer party and/or the first/last Wiley-Blackwell Summer Party, and I had a ticket. We had this thing going in the Social Committee that committee members went in free, and if you stood down/left mid-way between parties you still got a free ticket to the next one.

It’s possible that this might be the last of the parties, and what a way to go out, in one of the most special of venues (or be it with some surreal touches, like the ice cream vat in the middle of a 16th century quad). It’s actually a bit of a swan song for a the ‘Old Guard Committee’ as most of us have now left and/or are leaving shortly.
