Waking up this morning it was clear and bright and frosty, but with a light mist lying in soft layers over the valleys and the hollows. We went for a walk, up along Hampton Ridge, where we had the excitement of returning a lost dog (with a freedom collar and 50 million forms of ID none of which was a mobile) to its owners, and down through Pitts Wood and round the ford. It was very nice, and we didn’t get back until past one o’clock…

And then we hibernated in, had lunch, and dozed in the arm chairs, played with the cats, tuned guitars, and ate another Christmas supper, of biscuits and cheese dates and prunes, and candlelit – the kind of supper you can only really have at Christmas time… 🙂
…and then came the sadness of having to say farewell to Emma, if for a few days. It’s been a very special weekend, and its not going to be same without her…
