If ever there was a day to contrast with the one before it, it would be today. It has been like a new season, let alone a new day. Warm and sunny; it has been like Spring has finally arrived. We had some exercise around Burnham Beeches and, I think, fed the ducks, before returning home to lounge around the garden. Whilst Em had a little snooze in the hammock I de-legged my trousers and sat and began to read one of yesterday’s books. It’s good. Very good. And it has some very apt quotes.

‘You aren’t stupid,’ said Uncle Victor smiling and shaking his head, ‘but sometimes the things you do are…’

‘I like people. I like watching them. It’s just I’d prefer to do it from a mile away using very powerful binoculars.’

‘The richer you are, I’ve worked out, the smaller your telephone and the bigger your telephoto lens.’
