On the fifth day of advent

Thanks to Jane for linking me to this review of the state of fantasy film adaptations. It’s an interesting article, but one that leaves me in two minds. On the one hand I would like there to be more film adaptations of Alan Garner or Diana Wynne Jones novels, but only if they can be treated with the respect that they deserve and not with the unwatchable mess that became of Susan Cooper’s excellent The Dark Is Rising but which became a lamentable film.
