My lunchtime routine is settling down nicely. I have a bit of a read whilst I eat my lunch, and then write a bit more to Mr Tumnal afterwards. I don’t get a lot written – maybe a couple of hundred words at most – but its reassuringly something.
After all, to complete the average size novel, if you write 2000 words a day, yes you will get it written in a little over a month; at 1000 per day it will take you nice round 80 days, but even at just 500 words, you’ll still get it done within 6 months; 250 words and it will be done within the year. The thing is it doesn’t matter. However much you write, if you stick to a daily target and keep to it, it is absolutely achievable.
