Doubters always ask what is the point of twitter. Is it not just effemerable chitter-chatter. Sometimes, yes, its true. It is just effemerable with little value outside of the tweeter’s own life.
Twitter can be an incredible tool for networking though, as I have been disscoving with this week’s XML Summer School. It may just be a product of the computer/technical nature of the conference but deligates these days arrive with there portable device of choice (laptop, Apple, PC, mobile, iPhone, iPad…) and are communicating in real time with other delegates about what’s hot, what’s not, what’s interesting, and what they don’t understand or disagree with via twitter with a hashtag trending topic.
Before, during and after, the technology can help inform you who best to approach next and talk in person too.
