Apparently this weekend is supposed to be single biggest weekend for online shopping in the run up to Christmas, and come Monday there will be a lorry leaving amazon once every four minutes. Some might say despair at how online shopping has taken over the world, particularly at Christmas – that one order to amazon takes away from the thought involved in choosing and finding a present. I disagree, for me online shopping allows me to take my time to find the right present, and to buy just that, and keep a check of what I’m buying.

It also means that when I go out to the real High Street for that festive Christmas shopping I am free to enjoy the dark, and the twinkling lights, the carol singers on the street corners and find those little items for the stocking that I would not have found elsewhere.
