Back in the summer, when we first head that Creation Theatre were going to do Rapunzel or The Magic Pig in the antique spiegeltent this Christmas, we were a little unsure about whether or not we wanted to go and see it. It is after all, an adaptation of 2006 book by Annie Siddons, and it all seemed a bit silly.

And then the reviews came in, and the reviews were good; outstandingly good. I felt that I couldn’t miss out on it and so we arranged to go, going with Lucy and Look for an evening of crepes and mulled wine and good theatre.

Good theatre, it most certainly was. Rapunzel or The Magic Pig was abso-fantastically-lutely, brilliantly good. Stunning. With a clever script, brilliant direction and a great cast, it was a joy to watch. Funny, dramatic, at times sad, it was the best night out I’ve had for long time. The memories will live with me for some time to come.
