On the twenty-third day of advent: day two of two…

You know that phrase there’s no rest for the wicked? Well, I felt that today, for the second of my two-day working weekend of chores and Christmas prep. Thankfully, after the dismal, endless rain of yesterday, today was altogether a nicer, crisper, sunnier day for cleaning out the rabbits and the chickens…

…and then onwards to decorating the Christmas Cake, making mince pies, doing some more of the cleaning, prepping the sausage meat wrapped in bacon and stuffing balls for Tuesday, wrapping presents and making dinner. I did get a chance to pause over lunchtime and read an interesting article about Susan Cooper, her new book, and an exhibition that’s coming to The Bodleian in May, so it wasn’t an unenjoyable day but it was busy again.
