I loved Katherine Rundell’s Rooftoppers with its simple genius and originality. I remember looking at her debut book, Girl Savage and not being sure about it. Indeed I only bought it when I did because I was looking for her new book, The Wolf Wilder but the bookshop at work didn’t have it and I needed something new for the bus home.
It’s good, but it is not Rooftoppers. It’s set in the current day but it has a feel of something older, and it somehow seems unsatisfactory that Will cannot get the ending in the story that she wants.
