wow, what a story, i didnt even think those kind of things happened in real life!! i must admit id have been shaking in my boots after crashing into something like a deer! and i probably wouldnt have gone to work, thats for sure!

The deer kept going but I guess died shortly afterwards. My housemates at the time said they were going to find it and put the head in my bed, but actually one went back and got it and took it to the hunt kennels to feed to the hounds (he was into that sort of thing).
I was disturbed that when I told a colleague I had hit a deer he thought I had said an ‘old dear’, my attitude would presumably have seemed a bit callous to him 🙂

I think animals that have decided to end it all lurk in wait for vegetarians.

That sort of thing happens a lot in the middle east (camels wandering onto the road)- and it’s no fun having a big animal landing on your car. You sound remarkably serene, considering what happened – I would probably have had to go home. Anyway, relieved that it was only the car that was hurt – and it got off lightly, too.
