I hope that I don’t fall into the traps of which you speak (although doubtless we all do from time to time as we are, after all, only human), but I think it is good to be reminded of these things from time to time.

I think many kind, generous men *do* ‘get the girl’. What women don’t like, generally, is insipidity (is that even a word??) – sometimes ‘nice’ can be a tactful way of saying ‘dull’, and no one wants to be with a dullard 🙂

But it does work both ways – not so much a question of ‘niceness’, but a disappointing number of men seem to be conditioned to be attracted only to conventionally attractive women…And that works both ways too, but – based on what I see among people I know – I think women seem more prepared than men to forgive a few physical ‘imperfections’ in their partner…Just an observation 😉
