I had a very nice birthday, thank you so kindly for asking! I went to Six Flags the week before, then to see a play version of Nicolas Nickleby in a little Hollywood theater the night before. The actual day was spent quite quietly, but concluded with watching the movie Amelie with my long-distance fiance via the phone. 🙂

As for how I’m doing, I’ve been rather ill lately which has been frustrating, but it’s given me a lot of meditative time that I’d really needed with how busy my life had gotten. Thank you for asking. 🙂 How are you doing?

Yes, but that’s the risk with any novel, isn’t it? You just have to trust that your publisher will market the book in such a way that it will reach its ideal readership 🙂

This is both encouraging and worrying. You are not a ‘fantasy’ reader as a rule, but you read it because you knew me and I asked you. Since you like it, there is a possibility that other people like yourself might like it (if they read it), but not get as far as this because they don’t know me.

On the other hand, is the something that has captured your imagination something that will put off the ‘fantasy’ reader that would normally find it.

All a bit of a conundrum, and not terribly well explained … something that only time and redrafting will tell I guess… 😉

Ah that’s the one! And can I just say how I would love one of these. I also now understand where you got your former lj username from. I think I may peruse this site a little more. It seems to be one of things like Radio 4’s Women’s Hour which is notionally for girls but which the enlightened man can enjoy equally well. 🙂

TBH, I found it hugely more enjoyable than I thought I would (not being a big fan of ‘fantasy’ novels), but yours has captured my imagination and I do want to know how it all ends 🙂

Ooh, tetchy! You still think it’s worth persuing then? Perhaps I shouldn’t be asking this, but, are you still interested enough in the story and my characters (even if they do all start with an ‘H’) to want to know how it ends?
