It was on the ‘Older Children’ shelves rather than the ‘Teenage/Young Adult’. And of course being part of a growing trend could be advantageous than trying to do something new.

Yeah, you’re right – easy to panic when it seems that an established writer has beaten you to it!! It sounds as if her book is aimed at a slightly younger readership than mine, and there’s no mention of sinister twins 😉

I wouldn’t say so. There are plenty of novels out there that have similar themes but live perfectly happily side by side! And I think your novel is still, starkly original…

I did wonder though, whether I ought to draw your attention to this or not. I hope I’ve not done wrong… 🙁
