I don’t think I ever had a problem finding anything in the ordered by size/colour/shape system either. It just pleases me to be have it in mostly-alphabetical order. Maybe I’m a closet librarian?

Is this because of his law books, or does he have ‘particular’ tastes when it comes to fiction that you wouldn’t want to see sitting alongside your one’s?

As it is, they’re spread over several rooms and two houses…I have a rough fiction/non-fiction categories/alphabetical system, but circumstances mean it’s a bit random! I try to keep my OU books separate and to hand, ditto the TBRs. Having said that, if I want to consult/read a particular book, it generally doesn’t take me that long to find it 🙂

My office books are organised into:

Primary sources: literary; historical
Secondary sources: gender studies; literary criticism; medieval history; other history; art history.
