When I for home from work it was too nice to not sit out for a bit. So I did. And I wrote.

I wrote something new today. I don't think I've ever written anything like it before. Today I wrote possibly the most sexual scene I've ever written. I hasten to add that it wasn't a sex scene, but it was intense, and there were tongues…

This generated the question to Emma of: would she prefer to read a sex scene written by me, or think of her parents having sex. Tough call, and probably one best not answered…

It's actually a redundant question as I can't ever see me writing a sex scene. I don't really think they add anything. It's much more effective to hint at the intensity rather than try and document the event.

As if to prove a point… https://shepline.com/2012/02/28/as-if-to-prove-a-point/ https://shepline.com/2012/02/28/as-if-to-prove-a-point/#respond Tue, 28 Feb 2012 08:43:00 +0000 http://journal.shepline.com/?p=2037 Further to yesterday’s post, today, on the one day that it would be really useful, there’s not so much to read in the daily paper.

Oh well, back to the novel it is then… 🙂

Making Books https://shepline.com/2012/02/16/making-books/ https://shepline.com/2012/02/16/making-books/#comments Thu, 16 Feb 2012 23:49:00 +0000 http://journal.shepline.com/?p=2022 My productive and successful week has continued into the evening. Watched two brilliant programmes tonight on tele: Hugh Dennis’ brilliant new programme on the British Countryside and the wonderful Restoration Man – this week about a converted railway water tower. I loved it!

I also created the ebook version of my Mum’s children’s book, The Underhill Buttons, and sent off a proof copy of it to be checked. But it’s sitting there in Amazon, just waiting to be published.

There are a couple of little niggles. Whilst I do have chapter markings in it, for some reason they are showing twice when you click through. And last time I exported to epub from InDesign I managed to suppress the default TOC in favour of what they are actually called but I don’t seem to have managed that this time… 🙁

Still, at least I quite enjoy tweeking!

The Threat of Snow… https://shepline.com/2012/02/09/the-threat-of-snow/ https://shepline.com/2012/02/09/the-threat-of-snow/#respond Thu, 09 Feb 2012 23:17:00 +0000 http://journal.shepline.com/?p=2020 It seems that Abingdon Concert Band and snow don’t mix. the decision was made early to cancel tonight’s rehearsal, which actually I think I’m glad of. The snow started at about the time I would have left this evening and you never know how difficult it might or might not get.
So I had an unexpected band-free Thursday. What’s to be done but a bit more illustrating. I’m on a bit of a roll just at the moment abd having loads of fun with my new found technique. Judging by the feedback I’m getting from facebook where I’ve been posting them they seem to be well received to! Which is cool! 🙂
