Develop the habit?!! Hey, I am the master of talking to myself! I have got a dictaphone actually, and my iRiver has a external mic facility. Believe me I have thought about it but it just doesn’t seem to work. I just get tapes and tapes of gibberish … or the batteries go flat…

(Incidentally I probably wouldn’t look any more crazy than someone on their hands free or singing…)

I have the same problem…except I have a bike rather than a car.

Potentially the same solution, though – consider a minidisc recorder (or dictaphone or portable MR3 recorder, etc. etc.) – all you then need to do is develop a habit of talking to yourself out loud. People stare at you when you talk to yourself cycling through the park…you can probably get away with a semblance of sanity more easily in the car :-).
