I love this illustration so much. I remember attempting an immature copy of it when I was little. So inspiring! #Repost @illustration.magazine • • • Spring is sprung, at least in theory, so hang spring cleaning and head off to the river bank with Ratty and Mole, shown here in Arthur Rackham’s lovely edition of Wind in the Willows published by Limited Editions Club in 1940. Rackham was asked to illustrate the first edition, but didn’t have time and eventually completed it as his final commission – the intro says he could work for only an hour or two a day.
