Last night, at my birthday dinner, Kim gave me a pressie of a bottle of very nice olive oil. This, combined with the very nice Italian meal I had last night, made me think that today I needed to get some very nice bread to serve up with it. So today, I nipped down to Oxford and bought a new breadmaker to replace my old (and defunct) one, securing an unexpected £20 pounds off thanks to nectar. I had a wander through a very summery Oxford before returning home to bake up a batch of foccacia bread, some of which I have just consumed here in the garden with olives, olive oil, and a glass of wine…
