Just got back from my Tuesday swim, pleasantly tired from 46 lengths of exursion – in three goes, one of 14, and two of 16 lengths. So with 16 lengths, I have effectively swum round a running track – in one go!

My baked spud to go with cold lamb from Saturday is in the oven now, and batter for my pancakes is now waiting in the fridge…

I can’t believe it, one of the cleverist, funniest, sharpest people on radio has died. Her friend and colleague, Jeremy Hardy paid a fine tribute to Linda Smith on PM this afternoon. She will be missed.
It’s a small point, and hardly important in the greater scheme of things, but I’m just so happy you referred to Linda Smith as one of the funniest *people* rather than one of the funniest *women*. Small point, but actually quite a huge one, too. I’m still shocked that she’s dead.
