Jellicle cats are black and white; Jellicle cats are rather small; Jellicle cats are merry and bright; and pleasant to hear when we caterwaul; Jellicle cats have bright black eyes; we like to practice thour airs and graces; And wait for the Jellicle moon to rise…

Went from work into town after work, for a spot of late night shopping, and bought – with the exception of some bulbs for Grampa (don’t worry he won’t be reading this) – all my Christmas presents. Amongst dark and blustery streets, and under twinkling festive lights, I also treated myself, whilst in HMV to the remastered dvd of The Wizard of Oz at the bargain price of just £5! The box even comes with a press here logo of Dorothy, The lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man which lights up the emerald singer and sings We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz… *grins*

Then I met up in my favourite Pizza Express (situated in an old Inn reputed to have been a resting place of Shakespeare) for a bite to eat with Melissa and Jane, a bit of a play meeting, before descending on the New Theatre with the rest of the Blackwell’s crew to see Cats. I’ve seen this show once before when it toured to Southampton a decade ago, but I’m glad I went again, for it is a truly magical show. I know Jane agrees with me, because tonight was her fouth time, having seen it first aged four, in London.

Quite simply, brilliant! 🙂

Note: Bella and Arthur are definitely Jellicle Cats. All I have to do now is learn their Jellicle Names…
