Hanna Katla is bookish and intelligent – she’s had time away from college to travel and study abroad – most notably in Italy. It’s important to her that she gets an academic qualification; her own creativity is equally important to her; she paints and writes; as well as stories and poetry inspired by the great Icelandic sagas she writes songs – and sings in a band with three/four friends (guys) from college; they have been popular in the clubs of Reykjavik and a signing to Skífan Music is iminent…

Developing this other side to Hanna’s character gives the story to take new turns – a chapter following Hanna and her creative processes (which perhaps mirror the one’s I’m using to write this story) that will link in with what happens later in the highlands…
