I came downstairs this morning to discover that during the night, Pepper has died. He’s lying across the end of the sofa, comfortable like he always used to. But this morning he was cold and still.
I’ve just got in from digging a whole in the front garden, close to the bluebells, and burying him. There is a small square stone to mark his place.
I’m very sorry {hugs}
He was 9 years old, which is a good age for a cat I think, and he did have a heart problem, so I’m just glad that he died quietly in his sleep, rather than going off somewhere where I just wouldn’t have known.
rest in peace indeed.
aw, that’s really sad. i’m so sorry.
We had a family dog. Her name was Bella. She was part of us for getting on for 20 years. She had the most stinky breath and was also a bit nuts, but oh, we loved that dog. I dream of her sometimes, even today, 22 years after she died. I still remember her love.
Today is the day on which my beloved father would have been 82 years old. He was cheated of the last 12 years. I remember his love.
Bella and my Dad are still with me, as will Pepper be for you.
Oh, I’m so sorry 🙁 Poor old Pepper.
Oh, I’m sorry,Thomas. I know how much you love him.
I’m really sorry. Take care.
Thomas, I really am so, so sorry to hear about your loss. I know how upsetting it is to lose a cat, having lost both of mine in my teens (to leukaemia and a hit-and-run respectively).
But I’m sure Pepper is watching down on you from that big comfy sofa in the sky….
